Sven Rissmann (* 1978 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He is a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

Rissmann passed his Abitur in 1998 at Lessing-Gymnasium in Berlin-Wedding . He completed his military service directly at school and studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1999 to 2004 . He passed his 1st state examination in February 2004. From April 2004 to October 2005 he worked as a research assistant to the Bundestag member Roland Macht and from 2005 to 2007 as a trainee lawyer in the Berlin Court District. From November 2005 to January 2007 he was again office manager and parliamentary assistant at Roland Macht, who was meanwhile a member of the European Parliament . In February 2007, Rissman passed the second state examination in law. From January 2008 to April 2009 he was a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin in the Faculty of Law and from 2009 to 2015 a specialist mentor at the Fernuniversität Hagen . He has been a specialist lawyer for insurance law since 2016 .

Rissmann has a son with the Vice-President of the House of Representatives Cornelia Seibeld .

politics

Rissmann joined the CDU in 1995 . He was a member of the Junge Union Berlin (JU) from 1995 to 2009 and was a member of its district executive in the Wedding and Mitte districts . From 2002 to 2005 he was district chairman in Berlin-Mitte and from 2005 to 2007 regional chairman of the JU Berlin. Within the CDU, he has been chairman of the Wedding branch since 1997, and chairman of the Mitte district since May 2017. In the CDU parliamentary group, he was the spokesman for the young group from 2006 to 2009. From 2011 to September 11, 2018 he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the CDU parliamentary group and was then elected deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

Since October 26, 2006 he has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. Until 2009 he was a member of the Petitions Committee and rapporteur for the penal system and the judiciary . From 2009 to 2011 he was a member of the Committee for the Protection of the Constitution and then became a member of the Sports Committee. He accompanied this until March 2014 and then became a member of the 1st committee of inquiry into the construction of Berlin Brandenburg Airport . From 2014 to 2016 he worked as a member of the committee for European and federal affairs as well as the media and as a deputy member in the study commission “New Energy for Berlin”. He is a member of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Immunity and Rules of Procedure and the Committee on Cultural Affairs (since 2017). He entered parliament via the Mitte district list.

Political positions

During the refugee crisis in Europe in 2015 , he and other CDU politicians criticized the policies of Chancellor Angela Merkel . Rissmann is against the equality of marriage for gay and lesbian couples. At the end of 2018, he spoke out against the abolition of the penal council for stealth promotion.

Memberships

Rissmann is a member of the judges' committee , the general assembly of the German Association of Cities , the Committee of the Regions (deputy), the Board of Trustees of the Humboldt University of Berlin (currently suspended) and the Board of Trustees of the Beuth University of Technology (currently suspended).
