Svend Fochler (born December 9, 1966 in Lauchhammer ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for BFC Dynamo and Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .
Career
In his youth, Fochler played for BSG Energie Cottbus before moving to the youth department of BFC Dynamo in 1979 . There he was transferred to the second team in 1985, where he played in the second-rate GDR league. Fochler made his debut for the first team in the GDR Oberliga in the 1987/88 season on November 21, 1987, when he beat FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in a 4-2 win in the 89th matchday on the 11th matchday . Minute for Frank Pastor was substituted on. He scored his first goal on the following match day after being substituted for BSG Wismut Aue . This was also the winning goal at 2-1. Fochler was used four more times during the season. On June 4, 1988 he was substituted on in the 118th minute for Thomas Doll in the final of the FDGB Cup 1987/88 , which Dynamo won 2-0 aet against FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In the 1988/89 season Fochler completed only two games for the first team, but was able to establish himself as a regular in the second team, for which he scored a goal in 20 games. In 1989 Fochler moved again to BSG Energie Cottbus, which also played in the major league. He played his first game on August 12, 1989 (1st matchday) against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt. His first goal for Cottbus was on March 24, 1990, when he came on as a substitute for Michael Schneider on matchday 18 in the 68th minute . In the 1989/90 season Fochler came on 20 missions and one goal. In the following season 1990/91 there were only five league games. For this he took part in six games in the UEFA Intertoto Cup . After only two seasons in Cottbus, Fochler moved to FC 08 Villingen in 1991 . He stayed there until the end of his career in 2001.
After his career as a football player, Fochler worked as a coach for several lower-class clubs until 2009. Fochler, who is a trained machine system fitter, later worked as a real estate agent.
