Svetlana Vladimirovna Babitsch
Svetlana Wladimirowna Babitsch ( Russian Светлана Владимировна Бабич , English transcription Svetlana Babich, née Koroljowa - Королёва - Korolyova; born July 17, 1947 in Pavlovsk , Altai region ) is a former Russian spear thrower who started for the Soviet Union .
In 1971 she was eliminated from the qualification at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki .
Eighth place at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich was followed by a victory at the 1973 Universiade. At the 1974 European Championships in Rome, she did not get past the first round, and at the 1975 European Athletics Cup she was second.
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she was sixth.
In 1976 she became Soviet champion with her personal best of 63.74 m.
