Pavlovsk ( Russian Павловск ) is a large village (selo) in the Altai region (Federal District Siberia , Russia ) and the center of the Rajons Pavlovsk. It has 14,533 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

Pavlovsk is located on the Kasmala River, a tributary of the Ob , about 60 kilometers west of the regional capital Barnaul .

history

The village was founded in 1763. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Pavlovsk was one of the largest settlements in the Altai mountain region. From 1935 to 1992 Pavlovsk had the status of an urban-type settlement .
