Jelzowka ( Russian Ельцовка ) is a village (selo) in the Altai region ( Russia ) with 2861 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is good 160 km in a straight line east of the regional administration center Barnaul on the western edge of the Salairrückens predominantly on the right bank of whether -Nebenflusses Chumysh River .
Jelzowka is the administrative center of the Rajons Jelzowski and seat and only town in the rural community Jelzowski selsowet .
history
The village was founded in 1770 and was the center of a Rajon in 1939.

The regional road R366 runs through Yeltsovka and, coming from Biysk via the neighboring district center Zelinnoye , continues over the Salair ridge to Novokuznetsk in the Kemerovo Oblast .
