Petropavlovskoje ( Russian Петропа́вловское ) is a village (selo) in the Altai region ( Russia ) with 2642 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is just 150 km in a straight line south of the regional administration center Barnaul and 90 km southwest of Biysk in Voraltaiebene (Predaltaiskaja Ravnina) on the left bank Whether -Nebenflusses Anui .

Petropawlowskoje is the administrative seat of the Petropavlowski Rajons and the seat and only locality of the rural municipality Petropawlowski selsowet .

The village was founded in 1777 and has been the center of a Rajon since 1944.

Petropavlovskoye is on the regional road that branches off the R368 Biysk - Belokuricha in Smolenskoye and leads north of the Altai foothills , long along the Anui, to the west; A good 50 km west of Petropavlovskoye, it crosses the Aleisk  - Tscharyschskoje road south of the neighboring district center Ust-Kalmanka and continues in the direction of the district centers of Krasnoschtschokowo and Kurja .
