Salessowo ( Russian Зале́сово ) is a village (selo) in the Altai region ( Russia ) with 7290 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 100 km as the crow flies northeast of the regional administration center Barnaul on the Kamenka, a little above its confluence with the Tschumysch .
Salessowo is the administrative center of the Rajons Salessowski and seat of the rural community Salessowski selsowet, one of the next to the village Salessowo nor the settlement Murawei.
history
The village was founded in 1751 by the Old Orthodox . In 1924 Zalessovo became the center of a Rajon.

The Altai- Kuzbass trunk road passes north of Salessowo and is part of the shortest connection between Barnaul and the neighboring administrative center of Kemerovo . At Salessowo the regional road R367 branches off from this , which leads through the north-eastern part of the Altai region via the Rajon centers Sarinsk , Kytmanowo and Togul to Martynowo on the R366 Biysk - Novokuznetsk .
