Military Music Competence Center
The Military Music Competence Center (Komp Zen Mil Music) is the organizational unit of the military music of the Swiss Army . It is responsible for the training of military music cadres and soldiers, as well as for the use of recruit games, WK games and the orchestras of the Swiss Army Game.
The competence center belongs to the army branch and reports to the Deputy Commander of the Army. The Comp Zen Mil Music is led by Colonel Philipp Wagner .
Recruit games
Every year around 240 recruits complete their recruit school (RS) with the Swiss military music. You will be trained to become trumpeters, tambours or drummers for 21 weeks. All graduates receive an instrumental diploma from the Swiss Brass Music Association or the leading course certificates from the Swiss Drum and Pfeiffer Association (STPV). You will be divided into one of the WK games or a formation of the Swiss Army game.
There are three recruit games, one for each RS start.
WK games (troop games)
Each troop match bears the name of a large unit (brigade or territorial region). Anyone familiar with the organization of the Swiss Army will look in vain for the names of the reserve units. The opinion is very clear that troop games only bear the name of active associations, hence the three military games of the army. Each year the following 16 WK games (8 wind orchestras (A) and 8 brass bands (B)) perform a repetition course (WK) of three weeks each:
- Fanfare militaire forces terrestres ouest (B)
- Mil Spiel Heer Nord (A)
- Mil Spiel Army East (A)
