Sybille Schönrock
Sybille Schönrock (born July 28, 1964 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a former swimmer who competed for the GDR .
Sybille Schönrock from SC Chemie Halle took third place at the GDR championships in 1979 over 200 meters butterfly behind Heike Dähne and Andrea Pollack . In 1980 she repeated third place, this time behind Andrea Pollack and Ines Geißler . At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , Ines Geißler won the 200-meter butterfly with a hundredth of a second ahead of Sybille Schönrock, while Andrea Pollack only came fourth behind the Australian Michelle Ford . Sybille Schönrock also reached the championship finals at the GDR championships in 1981 and 1982 on her special route, but could no longer qualify for international championships.
The granddaughter of track and field athlete and Olympian Walter Schönrock works as a teacher in a day care center and is a volunteer trainer at SV Halle .
