Walter Schönrock (born April 10, 1912 in Berlin , † March 19, 1996 in Wittenberg ) was a German long-distance runner .

biography

Walter Schönrock competed over 10,000 meters at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin and finished 21st. Schönrock was able to win a total of four gold medals at German championships .

Schönrock's teammates Max Syring and Karl-Heinz Becker were also his brothers-in-law. His granddaughter Sybille Schönrock won a silver medal as a swimmer at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow .
