Sylke Rene Meyer

Sylke Rene Meyer (* 1970 in Berlin ) is a German screenwriter and film director . She teaches screenwriting / dramaturgy at the International Film School Cologne (ifs).

Life

Sylke Rene Meyer was born in East Berlin , but later left the GDR . After stays in Rastatt and Baden-Baden , she obtained her Abitur in West Berlin . She studied theater and philosophy (Magister) and law (1st state examination) at the Free University of Berlin and then screenwriting and dramaturgy at the "Konrad Wolf" University of Film and Television . In 2000 she completed her studies at the University of Television and Film Munich . Since then she has worked as an assistant director , film editor , screenwriter and director in Paris, New York and Los Angeles.

Parallel to her artistic work, she has been teaching as a professor for screenwriting / dramaturgy at the International Film School Cologne (ifs) since 2010 . Sylke Rene Meyer lives in Berlin and Los Angeles.
