Sylvain Tesson
Sylvain Tesson (born April 26, 1972 in Paris ) is a French travel writer.
Life
Sylvain Tesson is a son of the doctor Marie-Claude Tesson and the journalist Philippe Tesson. He studied geography with a DEA degree and made his first bicycle trip to Central Asia in 1997 . Tesson took part in several scientific expeditions. He became a member of the Société des Explorateurs Français. He travels mainly to Asia and the area of the former Soviet Union. He usually travels with a few partners, such as B. for a motorcycle trip from Moscow to Paris, described in Berezina , with the French photographer Thomas Goisque, the French travel writer Cédric Gras and two Russian companions. In 2012, he fell from the roof of a house, survived seriously injured, but suffered facial paralysis. As part of the healing process, he traveled through France. He describes this journey in Sur les chemins noirs . His books are very successful in France. From La Panthère des neiges about 500,000 copies were sold, Tesson became the "most widely read French-speaking author in 2019".
