Sylvia List
Sylvia List (born October 14, 1941 in Hamburg ) is a German literary translator .
Life
Sylvia List completed a degree in Slavic Studies and Eastern European History . She then worked as a publishing editor. She has been a freelance translator since 1977 . Today she lives in Munich .
Sylvia List translates literary texts from English , Russian , French and Yiddish . From 1989 to 1991 she was the holder of the Hieronymusring awarded by the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works, VdÜ . She passed this challenge on to Andreas Klotsch .
