Sylvius Dapples

Sylvius Dapples (born April 19, 1798 in Lyon , † December 7, 1870 in Lausanne , resident in Bremblens and Morges ) was a Swiss politician .

Dapples was a co-founder of the Vaudois section of one of the first national commercial enterprises, namely the Society against Fire Damage, founded in Bern in 1826 . He also founded the La Sarraz paper mill .

From 1831 to 1836 and from 1841 to 1845 he was a member of the Grand Council and from 1843 to 1845 he was State Councilor of the Canton of Vaud . He advocated liberal principles. He was not re-elected after the radical revolution.

He was also a co-founder of the liberal newspaper Le Courrier suisse in 1840 .
