Former synagogue in Luttange

The synagogue in Luttange , a commune in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine , was built 1786th The secular synagogue is in Rue Maréchal Foch.

The simple building was erected shortly before the revolution in 1789. During the Ancien Régime , the synagogues in France - in most regions the settlement of Jews was forbidden - could hardly be recognized as such from the outside.

The synagogue was abandoned by the community in 1923 and then converted into a residential building. From the outside, two round windows still remind of the original synagogue building.
