Synagogue (Sörgenloch)
The synagogue in Sörgenloch , a local community in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was built in 1893. The synagogue was at 7 Dörrgasse.
History and description
The synagogue was built by Bernhard Wolf, a member of the Sörgenloch Jewish community , according to plans by the architect Heinrich Raab from Nieder-Olm . The small hall building had a floor area of around 65 square meters. The building had segmental arched windows and a rose window in the gable triangle . The prayer room was covered by a barrel vault. The area for the women, slightly raised in front of the south-east wall, was separated by a privacy screen.
It is not known how long services were held in the synagogue .
After the First World War , the synagogue building was sold to the tailor Johann Dapper. The building was later demolished.
