Johann Wirtz (politician)

Johann Wirtz (born July 18, 1913 in Herzfeld ; † May 20, 2003 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Wirtz attended the Leidenborn elementary school from 1919 to 1927 and the Arzfeld agricultural school from 1931 to 1932 . Then he worked in agriculture as a self-employed farmer. In 1936 he became a soldier and did military service from 1939 to 1943 .

In 1945 Wirtz was a co-founder of the CDU in the Prüm district . 1946-1970 he was a member of the official representative Daleiden or the municipality council Arzfeld and Second Office Assistant . From 1954 to 1994 he was mayor of the Herzfeld community and from 1956 to 1989 a member of the council of the Herzfeld community. 1970–1979 he was first alderman of the Arzfeld community .

From 1946 to 1948 he belonged to the circle meeting Prüm and was from 1948 to 1952 and from 1956 to 1970 a member of the County Council Prüm and 1952-1964 member of the district committee Prüm before he was from 1961 to 1970 first Kreisdeputierter in Prüm. After the regional reform , he was 1970–1971 and 1974–1979 member of the Bitburg-Prüm district council and 1970–1979 member of the Bitburg-Prüm district committee.

In 1959 he was elected to the fourth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged for three electoral terms until 1971. In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural policy committee, border region committee and viticulture committee. In 1964 he was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly, in 1979 a member of the 7th Federal Assembly.

In addition, he was 1948-1980 member of the Chamber of Agriculture Rheinland-Nassau , 1954-1996 member of the hunt Board of hunting association Herzfeld, forestry advisory board, the board of the District Farmers' Association, 1965-1977 member of the regional office of the Planning Authority Westeifel, 1972-1989 member of the association board of administration union recreation area Irsen tal, 1979–1998 member of the administrative board of Sparkasse Bitburg-Prüm , 1948–1988 chairman of the Leidenborn local farmers' association and co-founder and chairman of the Hocheifel milk union .
