Ken Nlata Sema (born September 30, 1993 in Norrköping ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder took part in the 2016 Olympic Games with the Swedish U-23 squad and made his senior team debut in 2017 .

Career

Like his brother Maic Sema , who also plays football, Sema was born to Congolese immigrants in Sweden. He started playing football at IF Sylvia , which he left in the youth field for IFK Norrköping . There he did not prevail in the adult sector, so that in 2013 he was awarded again to his home club in the third-class Division 1 . At the beginning of 2014 he switched to the second-rate Superettan , where he signed a three-year contract with Ljungskile SK . Under coach Tor-Arne Fredheim he was a regular player right away and played all 30 games of the season in which he scored seven goals. At the end of the second division season in 2014 he finished third with the team, but missed promotion to the first division due to two defeats in the subsequent relegation against Gefle IF . Also in the following season he was in all 30 games on the field, to reach sixth place in the table he contributed with four goals this season.

In January 2016, Sema moved to the first division promoted Östersunds FK . Here, too, he quickly became a regular under coach Graham Potter and moved into the focus of those responsible at Svenska Fotbollförbundet . In preparation for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , he made his debut in the Swedish national team for the Olympics, where he played all three tournament games. After a draw and two defeats in the group stage, the tournament for the Northern European selection ended early. By participating in the tournament he had missed part of the season in the Allsvenskan and temporarily lost his regular place. Nevertheless, national coach Janne Andersson nominated him for the opening international games in 2017, where he made his debut in the senior national team in a 6-0 win over Slovakia . The rest of the season was also successful for him, in May 2017 he moved into the final of the Swedish Football Cup with his club . With a 4-1 win over IFK Norrköping with goals from Samuel Mensiro , Hosam Aiesh , Alhaji Gero and Saman Ghoddos when Linus Wahlqvist conceded , he won the title with which the club qualified for the European Cup for the first time . In the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League , the team then reached the group stage after successes over Galatasaray Istanbul and PAOK Thessaloniki .
