He came during the regular season in the 1984 season only to five games, he was in the championship finals regular player. At the side of Peter Lönn , Jan Kalén , Jan Hellström and Jonas Lind , he and the team reached the final against IFK Göteborg . In the first leg in the 1: 5 home defeat while still in the starting eleven, he was no longer used in the 0: 2 defeat in the second leg. After a tenth place in the table in the following year, he established himself as a regular player in the 1986 season. In all 22 games of the season he was in action, the club reached the championship finals again. There he scored the intermittent 1-0 lead in the 2-2 draw at the start against Malmö FF . After a 0-0 draw in the second leg, however, the team was eliminated due to the away goals rule against the eventual champions.

In the following years, too, the team fluctuated between midfield and top of the table, as did Fredheim between starting eleven and substitute bench. In 1988 he won the national cup with the club in the final against Örebro SK . In the 1989 season he played only 13 games this season in the regular season, but was under coach Kent Karlsson regular force in the championship finals. There the team reached the finals against Malmö FF, the top of the table in regular time. The decision in favor of IFK Norrköping was only made in a playoff. In the following three years he was runner-up with the club, in 1991 the team repeated the cup triumph this time with a final victory against Östers IF .

From 1993 Fredheim let his career fade out, first two seasons with Linköpings FF and then two years until 1996 with Åby IF . There he was player-coach in his last season before returning to IFK Norrköping. Here he initially worked in the youth sector and as an assistant coach. In 2001 he inherited Olle Nordin as head coach, but after only one season - the club only managed to stay in the Allsvenskan in the relegation games against Mjällby AIF - the club separated from him again. Then he was u. a. worked as a coach at the Degerfors IF football academy before moving to the IK Sleipner coaching bench in 2005 . With the fourth division, he rose to Division 1 at the end of 2008 , but after two seasons in the third division he left the club and took over the coaching position at local competitor IF Sylvia in early 2010 .

For the second league season in 2012 Fredheim took over in the Superettan antretenden Ljungskile SK . After a fifth place in the first and a ninth place in the table in the second year, the club extended its expiring contract by two seasons in November 2013. In the 2014 season , the team reached the relegation to Allsvenskan as third in the table , but failed there after two defeats at Gefle IF . After a sixth place in the following year, the paths parted, just a few days after the end of the season, the league rival Assyriska Föreningen signed him . After only three points from the first seven games in the 2016 season , he was relieved of his position and replaced by the previous co-coach Fredrik Samuelsson .

In November 2016, the fourth division club FC Trollhättan signed Fredheim as a new coach, with whom the return from Division 2 to Division 1 should succeed. Although he reached the runner-up and thus the promotion relegation with the team in a four- way battle with Grebbestads IF , Karlstad BK and IK Gauthiod , there she remained without a win and missed promotion as third behind Lunds BK and Eskilsminne IF . After it was initially confirmed that he would also coach the club the following year, he moved to third division Västerås SK shortly before Christmas 2017 . With 22 wins this season in 30 league games of the third division season 2018 , he led the team nine points ahead of relegated Syrianska FC to the championship in the northern season and the associated promotion to the second division.
