Syningen ( Norwegian for sightseeing , also known as Lindsay-Nunatak ) is a nunatak in the East Antarctic Kempland . In the Hansenfjella it rises 1.5 km south of the lake Nunatak .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The name given by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) is named after Lindsay Smith, a helicopter mechanic in a 1965 campaign as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
