TD Ranga Ramanujan

TD Ranga Ramanujan ( Tata Desika Ranga Ramanujan ; born May 27, 1921 in Gandarakottai , Madras , † October 14, 2013 in Hyderabad , Andhra Pradesh ) was an Indian table tennis official .

Life

Ranga Ramanujan was born to AT Desikachari in the district of South Arcot and trained as a journalist. He headed the Indian Table Tennis Association for about 40 years . He also took on official duties in the world association ITTF , initially as Deputy Chairman (Executive Vice President), and from 1999 on the Advisory Board (President's Advisory Council). In 1969 he founded the Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation , since 2000 he was its honorary president. In 1972 he was one of the founders of the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU), of which he was temporarily president.

Ranga Ramanujan was married and had two sons and three daughters.
