The TAS5380 is a heavy four-axle Chinese truck (8 × 8) which, like the WS2400, is a copy of the Soviet MAZ-543 .

In the mid-1970s, Taian Aerospace Special Vehicle began building a replica of the heavy Soviet / Belarusian MAZ-543 truck in Tai'an . Like its model, it was intended to serve as a mobile rocket launch pad for ballistic missiles such as the DF-15 (CSS-6). The result was given the designation TAS5380 8 × 8, which was available from 1979.

The TAS5380 is driven by a water-cooled diesel engine that is purchased from western manufacturers. There are different versions of the truck, some with different drive formulas , and the exterior of the tilting driver's cab has also been changed since 1979.

Various civilian truck versions were also produced based on the TAS5380. For example the special airfield vehicle TAS5130XJZ based on the TAS5130 (4 × 4), which is equipped with a 230 HP diesel engine from Cummins .
