TJ Dukla Praha
TJ Dukla Prague ( officially TJ Dukla Praha ) is a Czech sports club from Prague .
The name Dukla goes back to the mountain pass of the same name ( Slovakian Dukliansky priesmyk ), in the vicinity of which Czechoslovak soldiers crossed the Polish-Slovakian border in 1944 after an 80-day battle and began to liberate their homeland.
Club names
Dukla Prague was founded on October 1st, 1948 as Armádní tělocvičný klub (ATK Praha, in German: Army Association for Physical Exercise Prague). In 1953 the association was renamed Ústřední dům armády (ÚDA Praha, in German: Central Army House Prague). There were further renaming in 1956 in VTJ Dukla Praha and in 1976 in ASVS Dukla Praha .

Since the emergence of top-class army sport in 1948, Dukla Praha has been one of the most successful clubs and has also achieved international success. Dukla Praha belonged to the 1st Czechoslovak League without interruption from 1948 to 1993 and was champion eleven times. After the collapse of the communist regime, there was no financial support from the Ministry of Defense, and in 1991 the football department set up as FC Dukla Prague .

ice Hockey
The ATK ice hockey team was placed in the 1st league immediately after its composition for the 1948/49 season without any athletic qualifications. The club HC Stadion Podolí was the worst , which disbanded. In the first year, the army team finished third, in 1950 they secured their first and only championship title. After finishing fourth in 1951 , she became runner- up in 1952 . In 1953 the entire club was renamed ÚDA Praha and the team came fifth. After the end of the 1955/56 season , the two army teams ÚDA Praha and Tankista Praha merged, the latter only launched in 1953, and the new team entered the second division as Křídla vlastí Olomouc . After only one season, the athletes were transferred to Jihlava, where a new team was founded, which later became the record champions of Czechoslovakia: the ASD Dukla Jihlava .

athletics
In the athletics department of the Dukla Army Sports Club, the top performers of the Czechoslovak sports soldiers were concentrated. This included world-class athletes such as multiple Olympic champion Emil Zátopek and European champion and Olympic bronze medalist in the shot put Jíři Skobla . Even after the social upheaval in 1989 and the subsequent dissolution of the club structures, high-performance athletics was part of the armed forces' area of responsibility . The success story of the former club section has since continued as ASC Dukla , from whose ranks numerous Olympic and world champions such as Jan Železný , Barbora Špotáková (both javelin throw), and Tomáš Dvořák and Roman Šebrle (both decathlon) came. The training facility is the Juliska Stadium in the Dejvice district of Prague .
volleyball
The volleyball department of the army sports club Dukla were concentrated the top performing players of the Czechoslovak sports soldiers. Since 1969 she has played in Liberec as VK Dukla Liberec .

The association currently (as of September 2006) has the following departments: fencing, swimming, sports for everyone (women's gymnastics), tennis, volleyball and hiking.
