The 1949/50 season of the 1st division was the seventh regular staging of the top ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . With 12 out of 14 possible victories and a total of 24 points, the ATK Prague prevailed with ease . For the city dwellers, it was their first ever Czechoslovak championship title .

mode

As in the previous season, the league was played in a common main round of all teams. With the introduction of the first and second leg across the league, the total number of games per team in the main round was now 14 games and twice as many as in the previous year. Champion became the main round first. The last two teams were relegated.

1st league qualification

The teams from ZSJ Slavia Pardubice , ZSJ ČSSZ Prostějov , Rovnost / Meteor České Budějovice and Tatry Poprad played in a simple round for admission to the first division for the following season. The first two came out on top with six and four points respectively, ahead of Meteor and Tatry Poprad (one point each).
