The season 1945/46 of the 1st division was the third regular staging of the top ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . With a 3-1 win, LTC Prague prevailed in the final against I. ČLTK Prague and thus also won the third edition of the 1st division. For the capital city, it was already their eighth Czechoslovak championship title . As in the last season before the start of World War II , the title was played in a national league with two groups.
As in the last season played at national level in 1937/38 , the league was played in two groups, with the number of participants decreasing from seven to six each. Since each team played against each group opponent once, the total number of games per team in the main round was five games. The two group winners qualified for the final for the championship title.
In the final, the winner of the A group, LTC Prague, prevailed 3-1 against city neighbor I. ČLTK Prague. The top scorer in the league was Vladimír Kobranov from I. ČLTK Prague, who scored ten goals in a total of six games of his team.
The teams from SK Horácká Slavia Třebíč , SK Libeň and TKNB Bratislava played in a simple round for admission to the first division for the following season. The first two prevailed with four and two points respectively in front of the pointless team from Bratislava and were accepted into the first division.
