I. ČLTK Prague
I. ČLTK Prague is a tennis club with a tennis facility on the Vltava island of Štvanice in Prague . In the first half of the 20th century, the club operated ice rinks on site during the winter months. In addition, the club formed ice hockey teams at that time , which participated in the game of the highest Czech league, the 1st league .
history
The club was founded in 1893 as the I. Český lawn – tenisový klub , making it the oldest in the Czech Republic . In the 1950s it was incorporated into TJ Motorlet Prague . From 1970 it was called ČLTK Dopravní podnik Praha and was placed under the sponsorship of the Prague Transport Company. In the 1990s the club again took its old name I. ČLTK Prague.
The tennis facility ČLTK Štvanice Prague (also known as Tenisový areál Štvanice ) consists of 14 outdoor clay courts and 10 indoor courts, seven of which are hard courts and three of which are illuminated with floodlights. The largest square has a capacity of 8,000 seats.
It was the venue for the ATP Prague Open tournament and the WTA ECM Prague Open tournament .

The club's outstanding players were Luděk Bukač , Karel Masopust , František Výborný , Augustin Bubník , Jaroslav Jágr , Oldřich Kučera , Jaroslav Drobný and Vladimír Kobranov . In addition, Slavomír Lener and Jaroslav Hlinka began their careers in this club.
In 1998 the ice hockey department was closed and the remaining ten players moved to Bohemians Prague .
