The season 1957/58 of the first division was the 15th regular staging of the highest ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . With 34 points after the main round, Rudá Hvězda Brno prevailed. For the team it was their fourth Czechoslovak championship .

In contrast to the previous season, the league was reduced to twelve teams that played the main round in a joint group. After the first and second leg, the total number of games per team was 22 games. The championship leader was at the end of the season. The last two teams were relegated directly to the 2nd division.

The two winners of their respective 2nd league group, TJ Spartak GZ Královo Pole and TJ Spartak ZJŠ Brno rose to the 1st league for the next season.
