The 1975/76 season of the first division was the 33rd regular staging of the top ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . SONP Kladno prevailed with 46 points . For the team it was their third Czechoslovak championship title .
mode
As in the previous season, the league was played with twelve teams. Since each team played one home and one away game against each group opponent, the total number of games per team in the main round was 22 games. Subsequently, the first six teams played the championship in a home and return leg and places 6–12 for relegation. Master became the winner of the championship round. The bottom of the table in the relegation round rose directly to the respective national championship. Both in the championship and in the relegation round, the points from the main round were taken over.

1st league qualification
The winners of the Czech and Slovak 2nd division groups competed against each other in a best-of-seven series for promotion to the 1st division for the following season. The Czech representative TJ Gottwaldov prevailed.
