The 1992/93 season of the 1st division was the 50th and last regular staging of the top ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . In the playoff final, HC Sparta Prague prevailed 3-1 against HC Vítkovice . For the team it was their fourth Czechoslovak championship title . Due to the dissolution of the Czechoslovak Federation, the league was divided into two independent leagues, the Czech and Slovak Extra League .

mode

In contrast to the previous season, the league was played again in a joint group and the playoffs were reintroduced. First, a double round with one home and one away game against each group opponent was carried out. This was followed by another double round within two groups determined by the placement, so that the total number of games per team was 40 games. This was followed by pre-playoffs for the teams in places five to twelve, while the top four were qualified for the quarter-finals of the playoffs. Both the pre- and the playoffs themselves were consistently in the mode Best of Five played.

Champion became the winner of the playoffs. Third place was played in a best of three series between the semi-final losers. Since the league was dissolved after the season, there were no relegations.
