Radek Tóth (born January 5, 1968 in Slaný ) is a former Czech ice hockey goalkeeper who played for many years in the Czechoslovak first division and the Czech extra division. In Germany he was active for the Iserlohn Roosters , Moskitos Essen and the ETC Crimmitschau in the German Ice Hockey League and the 2nd Bundesliga . After his playing career, he worked as a goalkeeping coach.

Career

Radek Tóth began his career in the youth division of HC Sparta Prague and was also used several times in the first division until 1988 . From 1988 to 1990 he played for HC Dukla Trenčín . After a year at TJ Motor České Budějovice , Tóth finally returned to HC Sparta Prague. There he celebrated his greatest success with the championship in 1993. After five years in Prague , he moved to HC Kralupy nad Vltavou in 1996 in the second-class first division . In the 1997/98 season he played for HC Kladno . In 1998 Tóth signed a contract with Moskitos Essen . With his team, he rose to the German ice hockey league and stayed for a year before joining league rivals Iserlohn Roosters for the 2000/01 season. There Tóth formed the goalkeeper duo of the promoted team with Duane Derksen . After the season he moved to ETC Crimmitschau . He played there for four years, but had to contend with injury problems during this time, which forced him to retire in 2005. During the 2006/07 season Tóth tried a comeback in the regional league at SG Weißwasser / Niesky . There, however, his knee injury broke out again in the first game in January 2007, so it stayed with this one game.

From 2010 to 2014 Tóth was the goalkeeping coach at HC Sparta Prague. There he was responsible for both the first team and various youth teams. At the same time, he also worked for the Czech Ice Hockey Federation as a goalkeeper coach for the youth national teams.

International

Tóth played at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1985 and 1986 . During the 1990/91 season he completed three games for the Czechoslovak national team in the senior division.
