The 1937/38 season of the 1st league ( Czech Státní liga ) was the second regular staging of the top ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . With a 5-1 final victory, last year's champions LTC Prague won the final against AC Sparta Prague and thus again won the Czechoslovak championship , which was played within a nationwide league with two groups. Due to the outbreak of the Second World War , the game was stopped in the next few years and only resumed after the end of the war for the 1945/46 season . As an alternative, the championship of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia took place during the war years . In addition, an independent championship was held in Slovakia .

In the final, last year's champions and A-group winner LTC Prague prevailed 5-1 against AC Sparta Prague. The top scorer in the league was player- coach Mike Buckna from LTC Prague, who scored 14 goals in his team's six games.
