The TOCA Touring Cars computer game series comprises three racing games from Codemasters , which were the reference in their sub-genre (touring car racing games) around the turn of the millennium , before they were replaced by the DTM Race Driver series from the same company.

Overview

TOCA Touring Cars is one of the famous touring car game series. The games contain race tracks such as Brands Hatch , Silverstone Circuit , Oulton Park , Donington Park , Knockhill Racing Circuit , Thruxton Circuit , Croft Circuit or Snetterton Circuit . As game modes are full championships in famous racing classes such as Super Touring Car , Formula Ford and many more to choose from, and it is possible that Super Touring Car Championship in various racing teams as Nissan , Audi , Peugeot , Honda , Volvo , Ford , Vauxhall or Renault to complete . The game has a realistic damage model and artificial intelligence from the computer drivers. There are three different levels of difficulty to choose from. For the first time, even if only in a rudimentary form, decisive social relationships came into play in a computer game: Opposing drivers let themselves be pitted against them with targeted bumps. A multiplayer function is available both on the network and on the Internet .

The successor to the series is the Race Driver series, the first part of which was called the DTM Race Driver in Germany, but was sold as the TOCA Race Driver in England .
