The Turn- und Sportgemeinde 1893 Leihgestern eV is a German sports club based in the Leihgestern district of the Hessian city of Linden in the district of Gießen . The club is known for its soccer team and especially for the women's handball team, which played in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2003/04 season.

Men's
The first men's team qualified for the DFB Cup for the 1976/77 season . There the club met in the first round on August 8, 1976 at the Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde ; the game ended after extra time with 1: 1. This required a replay, which TSG played at home on September 1, 1976, but was lost 2-0.
In the 2003/04 season, the team played in the regional league Gießen / Marburg , where they finished third with 73 points. After the 2005/06 season, however, with 33 points, it went down to 16th place in the district league A Giessen . After the 2008/09 season, he came second with 69 points, which was enough to qualify for relegation to the newly introduced regional league. At the end of the promotion games, the team then placed themselves in first place and was thus able to perceive the promotion. Here, however, it was never possible to free oneself from the relegation battle and at the end of the 2011/12 season they only placed themselves in 15th place with 27 points. This made participation in the relegation relegation necessary, there it was ultimately not enough for relegation and the team had to return to the district league A. With 67 points, at the end of the 2014/15 season, the championship was finally back and thus the promotion to the regional league. After the 2016/17 season, TSG had to take part in relegation again with 33 points over the 14th. This time the team was able to prevail and did not have to relegate. After the 2018/19 season, the relegation team needed to participate again, but this time they managed to prevail against the opponents and stay in the league. Thus TSG still plays in the regional league today.
Women
A women's team started playing in the 9th B-League region Gießen / Marburg in the 2016/17 season and finished fifth there with 46 points. From there, the team then moved to the Oberliga Region Gießen / Marburg . There the team placed 14th with 21 points. The team still plays in this league to this day.
Handball
The women's team rose in the 2002/03 season from the Oberliga to the then third-class Regionalliga Südwest and immediately reached the championship with 47: 7 points and thus promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . With 10:46 points, the team rose to 14th place in the season south at the end of the 2003/04 season , but immediately again. However, due to the promotion, TSG still qualified for the first round of the DHB Cup . There they lost 25:21 at HSG Bannberscheid / Bad Ems . Back in the regional league, the handball women were finally able to stay in the league until the 2006/07 season, at the end of which it went back to 13th place in the league with 13:39 points . Nowadays the team plays in the regional middle league .
Other departments
In addition to football and handball, the club also has departments for table tennis , gymnastics and cycling . In table tennis, three men's teams take part in the game, with the first team playing in the district class.
