The TSV Hirschaid ( Turn- und Sportverein Hirschaid ) is a sports club from Hirschaid . In addition to football, the club also offers badminton , basketball , judo , skiing , athletics , chess , swimming , table tennis , gymnastics and hiking .
history
The history of football in Hirschaid goes back to 1920. First there was a team from the gymnastics club, then from 1924 a pure football club called SpVgg Hirschaid was formed . During the period of inflation, the club was very thrifty and struggled to survive financially. Nevertheless, they were already celebrating some successes at this time, which increased after the construction of their own playing field in the early 30s.
But the big time only came after the Second World War . Under the direction of Fritz Meusel, promotion to the Oberfranken-West district league was achieved in a very short time until 1947. The team known under the name "Kreisligaelf" made it to the Upper Franconian Cup final, until the club lost just 3: 4 to the then second division team of 1. FC Bamberg in June 1947 . In the period from 1947 to 1949 the club played in the district league. The sporting performance of the club was very changeable in these years.
After the club played in the A-class from 1949, since the A-class replaced the district league, they played there until the 1954/55 season. 1955/56 was relegated to the B-Class, but after two years the club rose again to the A-Class, in which the team held until the 1964/65 season. When the club missed promotion to the district league in 1965 with only one point behind, the team rose the following year. The club played in the B class for two years until TSV Hirschaid celebrated the championship in the B class in 1966/67. At that time, playoffs were also necessary to win the championship. The team won them 1: 1 and 5: 2 against their rivals from Strullendorf .
In the A-Class season 1967/68 the TSV occupied the place entitled to promotion with the ASV Sassanfahrt tied with points . The game against SC 08 Bamberg was won by the Hirschaider club 1-0. The club thus took 1st place and was entitled to promotion to the district league. But after the sports court decided after three cases, the club had to continue playing in the A-class. But in the following year they could get 1st place, four points ahead of ASV Sassanfahrt. But the 2nd and 3rd teams also celebrated the championship this year. That is still unique today.
In the first year in the district league in the 1969/70 season, the club was able to win the runner-up. They also owed this to their player-coach Fried, who was signed up in 1966 and who came from 1. FC Bamberg at the time.
The club played from now on permanently in the district league until the TSV even recorded promotion to the Bayern league in 1979 . There, however, the direct relegation followed. The team then stayed in the regional league until 1984 , when the club then relegated from the regional league to the regional league. There the club played in the district league until 1988, when the gymnastics and sports club then rose to become champions in the district league. There the club rose to the state league. Since the club, however, rose from bottom of the table back in the district league. When the club was relegated from the regional league in 1992, TSV had to play in the regional league from now on. After two years, he was relegated from the district league to the A-class. After the Hirschaid gymnastics and sports club held in the first year in the A-class with a good 7th place in the table, the fall into the B-class (district class) followed the next year. In the 1996/97 season the TSV reached a 2nd place in the table in the district class, which entitled to participate in the relegation. There the club won 4-1 and was eligible for promotion to the district league. The club played well in the district league and was eligible for promotion to the district league in 2001 as champions. In between the district league was reached, but in 2015 they rose again to the district league.
