TTC Blau-Gold Berlin

The TTC Blau-Gold eV is a table tennis club from Berlin-Wedding . His women's team was one of the best teams in Germany in the 1950s. You have been German runner-up six times.

Today the club's teams play in the lower classes. Four men's teams are registered for the 2010/11 season, the first team playing in the national league. The women play in the district league.

The association has received several awards for its youth work. In 2009 the girls' team took part in the German championship in Neuenstein (Baden-Württemberg).

history

The association had existed since 1921 under the name TTC Blau-Gold 1921 and was re-founded on April 1, 1949 in West Berlin by the couple Erwin and Fridel Beyer and some members of the SG Nordring association. It initially consisted of 35 members, mainly from East Berlin. A year later, the women's team became overall Berlin team champions. In the following decade she played a good role in German table tennis, but never won the title of German champion against the competition from Eintracht Frankfurt and TTC Rot-Weiß Hamburg . She often reached the finals and came second six times.

1966/67 missed blue-gold with third place in the league the participation in the German championship. In 1967 Jutta Trapp left the club. In the following years, blue-gold occupied the league places 7 and 8 to relegate in the 1969/70 season as bottom of the table.
