Oda Mielenhausen

Oda Mielenhausen (born October 2, 1938 in Braunschweig , † June 18, 2010 in Coburg ) was a German table tennis player . At the end of the 1950s she was one of the strongest German women.

Mielenhausen began playing table tennis in 1948 at the TSV Schöppenstedt club. She achieved her first successes at youth events, for example at the International English Youth Championships in 1953, where she reached the final in a mixed with Conny Freundorfer . In 1954 and 1955 she won the German youth championship in singles and doubles (1954 with Gerda Mielenhausen, 1955 with Erika Koch (Schmollinger) ), and in 1955 also in mixed with Roland Süßmann . In 1956 she moved to PSV Braunschweig .

From 1958 to 1959 she was nominated for four international matches. It was first used in March 1958 against France, where it won one game and lost one. At the 1959 World Cup she reached 10th place with the women's team. In 1962, she took part in the European Championship . Here she took third place in doubles with Ilse Lantermann . In 1959 she was ranked second in the German ranking. She was disappointed when she was not invited to the DTTB national ranking tournament in 1961, despite supposed qualification .

In the 1961/62 season she played at TK Hannover , then until 1970 at TTC Blau-Gold Berlin .

After her marriage in the 1960s, she performed as Oda Baucke . In 1995 she founded the table tennis department of TSV Beiersdorf and worked here as a trainer. In the end, she lived in Coburg until her death .
