TV theater in the ORF center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TV theater in the ORF center on the Küniglberg , which can be reached via a foyer with a view of the south of Vienna , has a 740 m² play area and is equipped with six color cameras. When planning this theater, the experiences of a symposium of international stage experts held in Vienna in July 1968 were taken into account.

The large television theater (Studio Z1) has a total area of 1,500 m² and seats 500 people. It is the largest television studio in Austria .

In the TV theater of the ORF center, only tabloids were played in which well-known national and international German-speaking actors appeared. The TV theater had its heyday between 1977 and 1984. Two to four comedies were produced annually.

The first rehearsals lasted three weeks in the rehearsal room. This was followed by ten more trial days together with a technical employee in the studio. If the rehearsals were successful, there were two to three public performances with an audience. The last performance was broadcast live on Austrian television on ORF 1 in the main evening program on Saturday evening at 8:15 p.m.

Despite the fact that the TV theater in Studio 1 in the ORF-Zentrum Küniglberg still exists, no plays are currently being produced.
