Tad Brennan
Tad Brennan , actually Theodore Brennan (born June 15, 1962 ) is an American historian of philosophy and classical philologist .
Brennan studied Classics and Philosophy at Reed College in Portland , Oregon . He then completed a PhD in Classical Philosophy at Princeton . After various posts he was Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern University , since then he has held a professorship in ancient philosophy in the Department of Classics and the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University .
Research focuses on the Hellenistic philosophy ( Epicureans , Stoics and Skeptics ), but also the pre-Socratics Anaxagoras , Aristotle and his logical theories, Sextus Empiricus and Simplikios .
