In his scientific work, Styczeń mainly dealt with questions of ethics, metaethics and human dignity. In 1993 he was one of the co-authors of the papal moral encyclical Veritatis Splendor published on August 6, 1993 . In addition, he published Karol Wojtyła's moral-philosophical work under the title Metaphysics of the Person in Italian.
