Day ticket (gastronomy)

Day tickets offer in a restaurant (here on a label with chalk writing board )

The term daily menu , sometimes also a regular meal , means in gastronomy an offer of food (rarely also drinks ) that is only offered on the respective day beyond the offer of the regular menu .

purpose

With the daily menu, the chef of an inn also complements his standard menu with seasonal dishes (e.g. asparagus or game dishes ) or he offers his guests an extended menu on weekends and public holidays.

Often, restaurateurs also use the daily menu to advertise and provide a more detailed description of an offer, which they adapt to the time of the lunch break based on the quantity and preparation time. At this time you can expect a large number of dishes to be sold and therefore calculate lower prices.

Compilation

A daily menu usually includes one or two soups , a few main courses and a dessert . In many establishments, these components of a lunch menu can also be ordered as a menu , which usually offers the guest an additional, albeit usually only minor, price advantage.
