Taglung Shabdrung Rinpoche ( Tib. Stag lung zhabs drung ) is the title of a Trülku -line of Taklung Kagyu -Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism from 1180 of Taglung Thangpa Trashi Pel ( stag lung thang pa bkra shis dpal; 1142-1210) founded Taglung Monastery ( Tib . : stag lung dgon chen or stag lung thang ) in the Lhünzhub district of Lhasa in Tibet .

A famous representative is Ngawang Namgyel ( sTag Lung Ngag dbang rnam rgyal; 1571–1626), the author of a story of the Taglung Kagyu School (Taglung Chöchung); Another representative is Lobsang Tenpe Chökyi Nyima (Stag lung Zhabs drung Blo bzang bstan pa chos kyi nyi ma), the abbot of the Monguor monastery Gönlung Champa Ling (dgon lung byams pa gling) .

The current Taglung Shabdrung Rinpoche Rangrig Dorjee Nyima (* 1991) is the 26th representative in the series, he is one of the three heads of the Taglung Kagyu School.
