Tal Avneri (born May 20, 1985 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American - Israeli ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dragons Nes Ziona in the Israeli ice hockey league since 2017 .

Career

Avneri first played in his hometown with the Dallas Titans in the Bantam League. In 2007 he moved to the fourth Finnish division for the Varkaus Eagles. During the current season, however, he left Finland and went to the Israeli ice hockey league for HC Mercaz . From 2012 he played for two years for the Devils Rischon LeZion , with whom he became national champion in 2013 and 2014 . In 2014 he moved to league competitor HC Bat Yam , with whom he won the Israeli title again in 2016. He has been under contract with the Dragons Nes Zion since 2017 .

International

For the Israeli national team , Tal Avneri played the World Championships in Division II in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 . After relegation in 2010, the defender and his team took part in the 2011 World Cup in Division III in Cape Town and won the title there with a hard-fought 6: 5 after extra time against the hosts and together with them, the immediate promotion. He himself was voted the best player on his team.
