Reservoir of the dam Goldentraum |
The dam Gold Dream ( Polish Jezioro Złotnickie or Zapora Zlotnicka ) was purchased from 1919 bis 1924 at Złotniki Lubańskie ( "Gold Dream") in Silesia in today Polish part of Lusatia built. Other details speak of a construction period from 1921 to 1924; it is possible that the construction of the dam did not begin until 1921 and that there was preparatory work beforehand.
Reservoir
This is the top of two dams near Goldentraum in front of the Marklissa dam . The purpose of the facility is flood protection and hydropower generation , but also recreational recreation through swimming and shipping. Their storage volume is 10.5 million m³ with normal traffic jams (and probably 12 million m³ with floods).
The dammed water is the Queis ("Kwisa"); the reservoir is 8 km long and the water surface is 125 hectares. The end of the traffic jam is below the Greiffenberger Bridge. The “Seeschänke” near the dam and the “Jugendseehaus” were built on the slopes of the reservoir.
The closest places are Greiffenberg , Goldbach, Goldentraum (Polish: Złotniki Lubańskie ), Rengersdorf, Hagendorf, Neuwarnsdorf (Friedersdorf) and Marklissa .
Dam wall
The dam is a curved gravity dam based on the Intze principle . It is 36 m high, consists of quarry stone masonry and is founded in gneiss . On the left side it has a side overflow and a cascading flood discharge channel .
The hydropower plant has three turbines and generators, each built in 1922, each with 1500 kW (a total of 4500 kW), which are still in operation today.
The construction costs amounted to 2.1 million Reichsmarks .
The dam is very close to the west:
- Marklissa (built 1901 to 1905)
and further east the
- Bobertalsperre am Bober (Mauertalsperre) near Hirschberg (built 1904 to 1911)
The ruins of the Neidburg are also nearby.
The information comes from: N. Kelen, gravity dams and massive weirs, 1933 and the internet pages given below.
