The Triptis dam is a small dam near Triptis southwest of Gera in Thuringia , which dams the Orla river . Their purpose is the service water supply , the flood protection and to a lesser extent the low water increase . The dam is operated by the Thuringian long-distance water supply . The barrier structure is an earth dam .
The reservoir has an area of approx. 14 hectares. It has been leased and managed by a fishing club since 1991 .
