Tamar Ziegler ( Hebrew תמר ציגלר; * 1971 ) is an Israeli mathematician who deals with ergodic theory , additive number theory and arithmetic combinatorics .

Life

Ziegler studied at the Hebrew University , where he received in 1998 her Master Accounts and received his doctorate in 2003 at Hillel Furstenberg ( Non-conventional ergodic averages ) 2005/06 she was at the Institute for Advanced Study , and she was a postdoctoral assistant professor at the University of Michigan and at Ohio State University . She taught as a professor at the Technion and has been a professor at the Albert Einstein Institute for Mathematics at the Hebrew University since 2013.

She worked with Vitaly Bergelson , Ben Green and Terence Tao , among others , and on arithmetic progressions (extensions in the environment of Green and Tao's theorem) and Hardy-Littlewood-type estimations for the asymptotic number of prime solutions of systems of linear equations.

In 2012/13 she was Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University . She was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians 2014 in Seoul ( Linear equations on primes and dynamics on nilmanifolds ). In 2011 she received the Erdős Prize and in 2015 the Michael Bruno Memorial Award. In 2013 she was an EMS Lecturer. From 2014 she was editor of the European Journal of Mathematics .
