The Tamout is a river in France that runs in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region . It rises under the name Ruisseau du Haut Montay in the municipality of Cuguen , first drains in a southerly direction, then turns to the east and after 20 kilometers flows into the Couesnon as a left tributary in the municipality of Bazouges-la-Pérouse .
