The Tange Promontory is an icy peninsula on the Crown Prince Olav coast of the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It is located west of Casey Bay and east of Alasheev Bay .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). Participants in a Soviet Antarctic expedition also mapped it in February 1957. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named them after the Australian administrative officer Arthur Tange (1914-2001), from 1954 to 1965 State Secretary in the Australian Foreign Office.
