Tangekilen ( Norwegian for Tongue Bay is) a recess of the ice shelf in front of the Princess Ragnhild Coast north of the mountain Sør Rondane in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located 70 km east-northeast of the Breidvika .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped the bay based on aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . It is named after the Kiletangen glacier tongue , which flows into the ice shelf immediately east of the bay.
