Tanja Donath (Sorbian name: Tanja Donatec ; * 1971 in Bautzen ) is a Sorbian mezzo-soprano .

The mezzo-soprano Tanja Donath was born in Bautzen and studied at the music academies in Leipzig and Vienna until 2001 (lied class with Norman Shetler). Private studies and master classes took her to Christa Ludwig, Brigitte Fassbaender, Gerhard Kahry, Hedwig Fassbands and Helmuth Rilling, among others. Julia Hamari has been artistically supervising the singer for a long time .

She sang in numerous opera performances and concerts at home and abroad (International Opera Studio Meran, Prinzregententheater Munich , Gewandhaus Leipzig, among others with Concerto Cologne , Dresden Frauenkirche , International Summer Music Festival Varna, Vienna, Salzburg, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway etc.) .
