Tanrō Ishida ( Japanese 石田 淡 朗 , Ishida Tanrō ; born October 29, 1987 in Bunkyō , Tokyo ) is a Japanese actor .

Life

Ishida was introduced to acting through his father, the Kyōgen actor Yukio Ishida , and his teacher at the age of three. At the age of 15, Ishida moved to England to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama . Upon graduation, he formed his own theater company called the Tea Leaf Theater . In 2013 he stood next to Oscar winners Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman for The Love of His Life - The Railway Man . He has appeared in Japan, Carnegie Hall in New York City and Shakespeare's Globe in London.
